Course Love: Bart
The first time that I ever played Bart was very frustrating. It really is a course you learn to understand more and more over time. Built in 1982, Bartholomew Disc Golf Course was the second course to ever be built in the city of Austin and is the oldest left standing in the state of Texas. As of today it only consists of 15 holes, but to this day they stand up as a difficult test for most players.
The first tee pad is right by the entrance off of 51st St. It require a pretty tough shot through trees and over a large creek. From there it really doesn’t get that much easier. Though you are required to dodge loads of debris that travels down stream from a Walnut Creek runoff, the first three holes are quite scenic.
